# CopyLink

## Description

Generates a deep link for the current cursor position or selected row and copies it to the system clipboard. The link is also echoed to the **Output** window.

Available in: Disassembly, Pseudocode, Hex View, Functions, Names, Imports, Exports, Segments, Strings, Local Types, and Bookmarks views. The action is enabled whenever a database is open and a valid link can be generated for the current location.

Links produced by **Copy link** use the relative form — `ida:///<idb-name>/<resource>?...` — with no source, making them portable across machines when resolved via `hcli`. To pin a link to a specific named source, edit the URL by hand: `ida://<source>/<idb-name>/<resource>?...`.

See [Deep Links](/9.4/core/user-interface/concepts/deep-links.md) for the URL format and full details or [Using Deep Links](/9.4/core/user-interface/how-tos/using-deep-links.md) for a practical walkthrough.
