# Calculator

```
    Action    name: Calculate
```

A simple calculator is provided. You can enter constant C-style expressions. Syntax of the expressions is the same is the syntax of IDC [expressions](/9.0sp1/developer-guide/idc/core-concepts/expressions.md). The result is displayed in the message window in three forms: hexadecimal, decimal and character. All the names created during a disassembly may be used in these expressions. IDA can also pick up the name or number under the cursor and to store it into the input line.
